First Ever #SpotifyWrapped!
The release of the first official single this year also meant that Allow Being became an official Spotify Artist this year!
As one of the top online platforms through which music is streamed, Spotify is a space where an artist’s songs can be heard worldwide, in an instant, 24-hours-a-day. For years, Beth has utilized Spotify in her daily life, to listen and browse tunes, and to make playlists for her Breathwork groups over at Held In The Heart.
She has discovered SOO many of her new favorite artists and songs through Spotify, and has subsequently connected with a few of them personally through social media! It’s a powerful platform, one that is an incredible tool for artists and listeners alike. The establishment of Allow Being’s artist account in 2021 felt like a milestone in and of itself.
Toward the close of each year, Spotify puts together a beautiful little collection cataloging your stats for that year. For listeners, you get to see your most listened to artists, songs, and genres, and for artists, we get to see the “results” of our labors of love – a.k.a. how many streams and hours our music was played.
“Hope Free” was released on July 14, 2021. No paid ads, marketing, or label backing with support… Just a newborn little baby song out in the world on its own. And between July and mid-November (when Spotify Wrapped was out), this sacred song saw over 8,000 streams in 13 countries!
By the end of December, “Hope Free” had closed out 2021 with over 11k streams and climbing!
As a brand new independent artist, these stats are humbling and deeply meaningful for Beth. She says, “I make music because I know I’m supposed to do it. That’s all. So to know that you are listening and connecting with my soul expression (around the world!) fills my heart and affirms my choice to show up to the Work. Thank you, dearest supporters and listeners. This is a milestone I will never forget.”
More singles and the rest of the album are coming, so keep your eyes and ears open! It’s going to be Beth’s most significant creative birth yet.
